A selection of my new headshots. More pics in my gallery.
I’ve been exploring speedlights in my photography as a way to control exposure and composition. Calita and Child is a black and white portrait of DJ Wayne Calita with his prized Pioneer RMX-1000.
The Madonna and Child or The Virgin and Child is often the name of a work of art which shows the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus. These artworks are part of the Roman Catholic tradition in many parts of the world with countless variations of the subject.
Michelangelo, who I greatly admire for his daring compositions, is credited with the Madonna of Bruges, which differs significantly from earlier versions in that Jesus stands upright, almost unsupported, only loosely restrained by Mary’s left hand, and appears to be about to step away from his mother…there’s a nugget of trivia you can share when you next take tea with the queen.
“…and he knew with practiced ease that he was not bone and feather but a perfect idea of freedom and flight, limited by nothing at all.”
(From Jonathan Livingstone Seagull by Richard Bach. Took this photo near Wandsworth Bridge on the River Thames.)
Just back from the Lake District, England. Snapped this photo at the end of the day walking down from Scafell Pike to Seathwaite.
